Alcohol Intake & Smoking Cigarettes Decreases Men's Power
A study done at Boston University showed that men who smoked one pack of cigarettes a day for five years were 15 percent more likely to develop clogging in the arteries that serve the penis, a situation that can cause impotence. In addition, heavy smoking decreases sexual capability by damaging the tiny blood vessels in the penis. The use of marijuana and cocaine also can result in impotence.
A recent study at the New England Research Institute in Watertown, Massachusetts, found that impotence was equally common among smokers and non-smokers in general. However, among men with certain health problems, those who smoked were much more likely to have potency problems. For example, 56 percent of smokers with heart disease were completely impotent compared with only 21 percent of non-smokers with the disease.
Alcohol intake decreases the body’s ability to produce testosterone. Research at Chicago Medical School revealed that drinking alcohol may cause the hormonal equivalent of menopause in men. Alcohol not only affects sexual function, but also helps set the stage for a heart attack and other dangerous conditions.
Alcoholism. Excessive alcohol consumption disrupts hormone levels and can lead to nerve damage. This type of impotence may be reversible or permanent depending on the severity of the nerve damage. Some clinical studies suggest about 25 percent of all alcoholics become impotent -- even after they stop drinking.

Steroid Health Dangers A “foul Ball” CARLE PLACE, New York – June 3, 2002 – Public outcry over steroids in baseball is rooted in two concerns: the unnatural advantage gained by users and the reportedly devastating health dangers. According to anabolic steroid legal expert Richard D. Collins, Esq., who has a background as a criminal prosecutor as well as a certified personal trainer, no one can deny the great advantage that enhanced strength and muscle can provide to athletes in pitching and batting, and the coercive effect this “unfair advantage” may have upon non-using players seeking to maintain parity is t...

Gerd Essentials GERD stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease, a clinical condition that occurs when reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus is severe enough to impact the patient’s life and/or damage the esophagus. Gastroesophageal refers to the stomach and esophagus while reflux means to flow back or return. You see, when chewed-up food slides down the esophagus or swallowing tube, and into the stomach, there digestive juices begin to break down the food. A special type of muscle called a sphincter connects the esophagus and the stomach. The sphincter works like a gate. It opens up so food can get into the stomach, and then it closes again. This keeps the food and acidic stomach juices from flowing back into the esophagus. However, if the sphincter ...

| Smoking - Thinking Outside The Box Concerning Congestive Heart Failure. “Think outside the box!” These words show up in commercials, boardrooms, operating rooms and casual conversations. They have become the calling card of the young creative hotshot trying to secure an impressive position in a choice company. They mark the inventive thinker and condemn the one doing everything in the same old fashion. For the most part we live in a world where new is better and change in and of itself is considered a good thing. But there are some boxes in which our thinking seems to be locked.
